Good stuff, I'd like to see this built. Only tricky part is sourcing the NC7SV57. If I come up with a great plan, I'll let you know, becuase I'd like to build one of these myself.

You can try a SN74AUC1G14DBV for the power converter and another for the flash control using a schottky pointing from the output to the high side of the converter's timing cap.  TI also has a hex schmidt, but I do not think you want to be dealing with a 0.5mm QFP.  Digikey is currently not showing stock but I know that is through them that TI does their samples so there should be some there...or you could put some BS in a TI sample request  Wink
