One of the first rheobuses to use blue leds (Sunbeam?) a few years back drew comments from virtually every review (and reviews that were mainly done by young geeks) that the leds were over-bright.

One reason for the current dissatisfaction, I'm sure, is that the world believes, if the spec says 3.6V@20mA (or 30mA max) then 20mA (or 30mA) they must have to work... You can use less, you know... :headbang smiley needed:
