Whelen is now offering PAR 36 and PAR 46 LED landing/taxi lights for aircraft use.

PAR 36, 1.5 amps @ 28 volts

PAR 46, 3 amps @ 28 volts

So?  As hobbyists we like to do it ourselves, more often than not for less than OEMs like them like to charge.

As an engineer I see better ways of doing it than that and scoff at the poor AND overpriced thermal design imposed by the bulb replacement limitations.
