Connects directly to 110VAC,  anyone know if these will work with standard incandescent HV dimmers?  Grin

you saw that in the Mouser newsletter too eh?!

what concerns me is the datasheet for the star mentions it has compact components and has an integrated circuit.  any kind of circuitry probably rules out compatibility with any sort of chopper dimmer (like a triac)

I'm wondering if it has some sort of offline switcher built onto the star, or if the diode infact has a ~150 vdc forward voltage and it is just two diodes side to side?

$25 for 150 lm isn't my exact idea of a bargain either.

ya,  the data blurb on Mouser and the Seoul .pdf are leaving some questions  Huh.

"operates directly from AC power without a converter or ballast"  on Mouser

"Integrated circuit"  and  "No energy lost in conversion"  in Seoul catalog,  had me asking "how'd they do that"?

that price is real steep,  but should fall in time (NRE ...etc.)

It is inefficient at 40Lm/W and will not work with dimmers.  It has no electronics and is basically stacked  reverse parallel LEDs at the die level.  They are claiming they will have a 120Lm/W in a 400Lm package before the end of the year.
