where are they now?

I don't know about your market, but mine is all but devoid of LED Christmas lights this year.
Aside from a variety of LED rope light and some terrible looking blue-white LED powered animatronic deer, there are no LED powered Christmas lighting products on my store shelves this year. Not at ACE Hardware, nor Searsmart, nor Lowes or Mendards. I haven't stooped so low as to check wallyworld, there isn't one that's handy to get to 'round these parts.
I wonder if a shortage in bulb-type leds has been created, thanks to all the wonderful advancements in surface mount leds?
What I'm really searching for are LED icicle lights that were made up from different shades of blue leds, not the typical white or single color kind. I only saw them at Menards last year, and they went from Full Price to Sold Out within weeks, not lasting till the clearance sale days.

Interesting point. I guess if worse comes to worse, should be some available at yard sales next spring. I can't believe someone isn't sitting on a pile of 'em from last year.

I think the less than overwhelming reception last year scared a lot of retailers off.

a fresh shipment of the icicle lights arrived at menards over the weekend, they sold out in one day without even having to unpack the boxes... at $35 a strand
70 count leds, injection molded sockets and a lot of wire. I could probably make my own for close to that price if I ordered leds from Heibei, but I don't think it is worth it.

I see them at wallyworld, target, and BJ's. the neatest ones were at wallyworld, little LED snowflakes - they sell out as quick as they come in
