Hi everyone! I'm really wanted to get involved in some of these LED projects. I'm an electrical engineering student and in my microcontroller class we're using the Motorola 68HC11. I was curious if any of you have any experience with this or what the easiest / best chip solution. I have been readin around and such I know if I use PIC's I need a programmer and such. I was curious if you guys could point me in a good direction.

Thanks!

They are going to have to give you some kind of board that allows you to do IO and load code into memory, no matter what the chip is. Back when I did this, we used a terminal emulator and downloaded object code into the board by XModem if I remember correctly. We assembled it on the peecee, which was probably a 286, to give you an idea of how long ago I was doing this kind of work.
